Panasonic Toughbooks are helping to revolutionise the way East Midlands Ambulance Service crews record patient information whilst on the road, improving patient care and driving efficiencies to create millions of pounds of savings for the NHS.

We are receiving complaints from Staff over short notice shift changes being made by the Scheduling Departments, without agreement, again, highlighting their total disregard for colleagues. This is an unfair practise and we call upon the people concerned to withdraw from using it, unless it is specifically agreed with Staff.

In order to settle the problem, your UNISON Representatives need evidence to present to Management and we would ask that you write to this website or contact your Rep. directly. Without evidence, there is no case.

The Webmaster.

Dear UNISON Member,

With the government planning sweeping changes to public sector pensions across the UK, UNISON has produced a briefing for members on the key issues.

The briefing explains:

  • the proposed changes to the NHS Pension Scheme;
  • what the changes will mean to you;
  • the current state of negotiations;
  • what UNISON is doing in response to the proposals;
  • what you can do as part of the campaign.

For a copy of the NHS Pension briefing, click on http://www.unison.org.uk/acrobat/A13369.pdf

For more information about UNISON’s campaign, go to http://www.unison.org.uk/pensions/healthcare.asp

We hope you find the material useful and would welcome any feedback you have by replying to this e-mail.

You may wish to know a little more about changes to the spine points system. The AfC T&C's handbook is available by clicking on the relevant logo.

¶ The 2nd gateway in band 5 is at pay point 20 for 2011/12.

¶ If you look at the Agenda for Change handbook - at the bottom of each pay scale page it will tell you in what year’s the pay points were renumbered.

¶ What happened is that some of the lower pay points were eradicated, but instead of leaving the numbering of the pay points the same, they re-numbered them, which In total meant the ‘loss’ of two pay point numberings.

¶ The salaries were not changed though.  This happened in April 2009 and April 2010.

¶ We hope that this clarifies things for the Band 5 Advanced Technicians.

¶ If you have any further questions, please contact us and will we endeavour to help.
